The next First Friday
Bluegrass Night at the Kentucky Opry in Draffenville will be
held January 5 at 7:30 p.m.
The City of Benton and the
Jackson Purchase Friends of Bluegrass will present the 15th annual
"Bluegrass on the Square" Monday, May 28, 2007. The Bankesters and
Rhonda Vincent & The Rage will appear in concert beginning at 2
p.m. There will also be a barbecue contest and barbecue lunch.
Admission to the concert is free.
The fifth annual Kentucky
Lake Bluegrass Festival will be held at the amphitheater at
Kenlake State Resort Park in Aurora, Kentucky, June 8-9, 2007. Nothin'
Fancy, the Williams and Clark Expedition, and Cedar Hill will
appear in concert Friday, while Blue Highway, The Boohers, The
Circuit Riders, The River Bottom Band, Billie Renee & Cumberland
Gap, and Bawn in the Mash will perform Saturday. The McKendrees
will be the festival's host band and will perform both Friday and
Saturday.
Events
Steak N Shake restaurant
in Paducah will donate one Steakburger patty to America's Second
Harvest Food Banks for every $5 in gift card purchases. The
program runs through December 25.
The Noble Park holiday light display will be on display now through December 31. The
display will be open from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and from 6
p.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is free, and monetary
donations or canned goods will be accepted for local charities. For

The Christmas light display at Mike Miller Park in Draffenville
will be available for viewing now through January 2. Donations will

The Murray Bank is offering a drawing for two fifth-row tickets to
see the television program "Dancing With The Stars" live at the
Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville January 21. Everyone who
makes a $5 donation to Relay For Life at either of The Murray Bank's
locations between now and January 12 will be entered in the drawing.

The Graves County High School Horticulture Department's annual
Poinsettia Sale will begin Wednesday, December 6. The price for the
flowers this year is $5, and colors available are white, red, pink,
marble, apricot, monet twilight, and jingle bells. Poinsettias may
be purchased during school hours at the horticulture department high
school entrance, which faces Graves County Middle School. For more

In conjunction with the United States Marine
Corps-Toys For Tots, the Northside Church of God will sponsor "The
Greatest Gift Ever Given" Saturday, December 16, at 3 p.m. at the
Robert Cherry Civic Center in Paducah. There will be free toys for
children up to 12 years old, free Christmas cookies and punch, and
drawings for door prizes such as a color TV, a DVD player, and Mp3
players.
A chicken and dumpling dinner and a free old-time
Christmas concert with Eric Horner will be hosted at the Metropolis
Masonic Lodge December 22. The all-you-can-eat dinner will be hosted
from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Dinner tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the
door. The concerts, which begins at 7 p.m., is free to the public
and everyone is invited to attend. Proceeds from the event will go
to the Make A Wish Foundation.
